State Senator Don Benton has led the charge in Washington state to reduce government waste and fight tax increases. He believes the greatness of our nation lies in the people, not the government. In the Senate, Don successfully called for a special session to cap property taxes at 1%, reinstating I-747. He also sponsored the Chelsea Harrison Act, which closed a sentencing loophole in our three-strikes law. He believes in free-market principles and has never voted for a tax increase. Don lives in Vancouver, Washington with his wife, Mary, and their four children. For his US Senate race, Don has hired the Shawmut Group, who ran Scott Brown’s Senate campaign in Massachusetts.
